COMMITTEES

The Wisconsin Athletic Trainers' Association has eleven standing committees and five sub-committees. Each committee chair is responsible for reporting information to a member of the WATA Board and submitting regular reports on committee action to the WATA Executive Council.

Archives Committee
Chair: Charles Crandall
Purpose: The Archives Committee is responsible for collecting and storing documents and materials that are related to the WATA.
Reports to: WATA Secretary

Awards Committee
Chair: Diane Slaughter
Purpose: The Awards Committee oversees the process and selection of recipients for the WATA Hall of Fame, Distinguished Service Award, and other special designated awards.
Reports to: WATA Vice-President

Career Life Balance Committee
Chair: Vacant
Purpose: The Career Life-Balance Committee is responsible for the identification of issues that affect the quality of life of athletic trainers and to help with the dissemination of information and resources on how these issues can be solved by the membership.
Reports to: WATA Member at Large

Education Committee
Chair: Jill Murphy
Purpose: The Education Committee is responsible for the initiation and promotion of quality continuing education opportunities for licensed athletic trainers in the state of Wisconsin.
Reports to: WATA President

High School Athletic Trainer Committee
Chair: Michael LaMere
Purpose: The High School Athletic Trainer Committee is responsible for identifying those issues that are important to athletic trainers that work in this setting and to suggest and formulate solutions to these issues.
Reports to: WATA Secretary

Industrial Committee
Chair: Vacant
Purpose: The Industrial Committee is responsible for identifying those issues that are important to athletic trainers that work in this setting and to suggest and formulate solutions to these issues.
Reports to: WATA Secretary

Legislative Committee
Chair: Mike Van Veghel
Purpose: The Legislative Committee is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of legislative issues that control and effect the profession of athletic training in the state of Wisconsin.
Reports to: WATA President

Reimbursement Committee
Chair: Dan Trampf
Purpose: The Reimbursement Committee is responsible for educating and updating the membership on the issues pertaining to third-party reimbursement for athletic trainers in the state of Wisconsin.
Reports to: WATA President

Conduit Sub-Committee
Chair: Sheri Almquist
Purpose: The Conduit Committee is responsible for managing the WATA Conduit account, soliciting funds for the conduit, and working with the Legislative Committee to distribute conduit funds.
Reports to: Legislative Chair and WATA President

Public Relations Committee
Chair: Jim Shlimovitz
Purpose: The Public Relations Committee is responsible for the collection and dissemination of information on the profession of athletic training to the membership and to the public.
Reports to: WATA Treasurer

Newsletter Sub-Committee
Chair: Michael Moll
Purpose: The Newsletter Committee is responsible for soliciting information for and creating the WATA Newsletter.
Reports to: Public Relations Chair and Treasurer

Research Committee
Chair: David Bazett-Jones
Purpose: The Research Committee is responsible for soliciting and reviewing research proposals that are submitted by the membership for possible funding.
Reports to: Treasurer

Scholarship Committee
Chair: David Kroll
Purpose: The Scholarship Committee is responsible for the process, procedures, and selection of the annual WATA Scholarships.
Reports to: WATA Member-at-Large

Founding Fathers Sub-Committee
Chair: Charles Crandall
Purpose: The Founding Fathers Committee is responsible for conducting fundraising activities for the Founding Fathers Scholarship.
Reports to: WATA Member-at-Large

Golf Outing Sub-Committee
Chair: Mike Van Veghel
Purpose: The Golf Outing Committee is responsible for planning and implementation of the annual golf outing.
Reports to: WATA Member-at-Large

Student Education Committee
Chair: Hal Strough
Purpose: The purpose of the Student Education Committee is responsible for identifying, promoting, and coordinating educational activities for the student membership of the WATA.
Reports to: WATA Vice-President
